How do I change a Renault Megane front indicator bulb?

Its an 02 Megane and the front indicator bulb may have blown, its not working and as a result the other indicators are flashing faster than normal to alert me to this.

Under the bonnet its crammed with bits and theres no easy way from the top to change the bulb. Am I right in thinking that I have to gain access via a panel under the wheel arch? Somewhere else I read about bumpers being taken off and if it goes to the garage it costs a lot in labour to change a 4 bulb.

Seems like a really stupid design fault, as changing bulbs is a common task to be carried out by everyone and should not require paying out lots of money to do so.How do I change a Renault Megane front indicator bulb?hi I'm a Renault mechanic and have done this many times and it is a terrible design... lock your steering out left or right depending on which side is blown you will see a removable cover which you might need a screwdriver to pop off..now this is tricky and make sure you take off your watch or your arm will get stuck put your hand up and feel around for a flat plastic leg about an inch long this is the holder that the bulb sits into then screws into the lamp most of the time the bulb isn't blown its just this holder comes loose so turn on your indicators and twist the holder to tighten it and they more than likely will start working again as this closes the contacts between the bulb and the lamp...if the bulb is blown twist the other way and keep pulling back while twisting so it will pop out when the legs get into position you will have to fiddle around the bulb/holder to get it down and out the gap in the panel as there isn't much room usually u have to take your hand out to give room for the bulb to come down then change the bulb and you should grease the rubber seal on the holder just makes twisting it back easier..fitment is the exact opposite of removal but it is tricky and will have to bend your hand over and back and twist around and in and out but if you have the patients you should have no problem...but say a prayer you just have to tighten it not change the bulb! How do I change a Renault Megane front indicator bulb?Just wanted to say thanks for the tip, cars. The connectors tip is a very good one, this is what just happened to mine. If it wasn檛 for your tip then I檇 have wasted another half hour trying to twist out the peg and replace the bulb unnecessarily. Cheers.

How do I change a Renault Megane front indicator bulb?I am intrigued as to why people place ridiculous comments on post such as this, e.g. joshoog, whatsmynameagain1987. Their comments are neither funny or helpful. Do people have so much time on their hands that they spend it writing moronic comments on the web. Unbelievable.

You shouldn't own a renault or any french car really - they are all bad for things like this - usually it takes an hour to change bulbs - we have several renaults at work and some you have to change the whole light cluster - as they are sealed units.

Unless you get yourself a Haynes Manual you may have to go to the garage!
