I need to change one but I'm having trouble getting the bulb out. I don't want to force it and I'm guessing there is a technique I'm unaware of. The instructions should be in there. You will need the V.I.N. # from your car to access it.
Generally speaking though, there's only two ways they come out, unless it's an LED bulb. Either pull straight out, or push in a little, twist counter-clockwise about 1/8 turn, then pull out.
If it's a side marker light, chances are it's one of these very small bulbs;

which pulls straight out.
If it's a larger bulb (like thumbnail size), those can be either a type that pulls straight out, which have a plastic base;

Or the push in and twist type, which has a round base (bayonet type) like this one;
